Chihuahua

chihuahuaChihuahua are the world's smallest canine breed. There's no breed of canine smaller. Chihuahua are full of life and elegant little dogs. They are tiny in size so are not suited for rowdy families or out of doors living. They are a perfect apartment dog and do not bark much. A devoted, smart, incredibly loving dog that would make a super companion for anyone. Chihuahua are very delicate and the pet should all the time be treated with care.

It is really recommended that ordinary families don't have these dogs as everyday house pets. They are not in a position to go through all the standard, daily activities that a house dog would be able to go through. It might not be recommended to have one of these as a puppy in a home with kids either. Small children might hurt the animal on account of its size and it can be stepped or sat on whilst children are playing. The dog also wants consistent attention so they may become jealous of kids.

Chihuahua Appearance

The AKC (American Kennel Club) acknowledges two kinds of Chihuahua: the long-coat and the smooth-coat. Many long-coat Chihuahuas have very thin hair, but other long coats have a very dense, thick coat. They're famous for their huge brilliant eyes. Their massive eyes have a tendency to tear more that breeds with smaller eyes. It is a method for keeping their eyes clean and clear of debris. The eyes of a Chihuahua will have to be very dark except in light colored Chihuahuas where their eyes tend to be ruby colored and glow red in the dark. They are also well-known for their massive, flaring ears, a feature that makes them simple to recognize. Although figures continuously vary, as with every breed, the typical lifetime for a Chihuahua is approximately eight to 18 years of age. Typically, the height ranges among six and ten inches on the withers. However, some dogs grow as tall as twelve to fifteen inches.

Chihuahua Temperament

Chihuahuas are cherished for their devotion, ferocity and individuality. Their inquiring nature and small size make them easily adaptable to quite a lot of environments. They are continuously stereotyped as high-strung, despite the fact that it has been proven that proper training and socialization can result in a fantastic companion animal. Chihuahuas are frequently spirited with a terrier like character with little heed given to their precise size or the size of their opponent. Protective of owners, they often bond to only one or two persons in a family. They can even be arrogant in relation to different breeds of dogs, because the chihuahua is a clannish breed that prefers other chihuahuas for companionship.
